Duties and responsibilities: Examines and diagnoses disorders and diseases of the human skin.
Prescribes and administers patient medications. Performs a variety of
laboratory procedures, examines sample tissues, and uses various biological and
chemical analyses to identify harmful organisms or pathological conditions.
Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
Salary: Dermatology is one of the highest paid medical specialties. A 2012
Medscape poll reports that the median income for dermatologists in the United
States is $283,000, with a range of $100,000 to $500,000.
Education: Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of
treatment. Requires a degree in medicine from an accredited school and is
licensed to practice. May require at least 2-4 years of dermatology experience.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular
field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs

creativity and latitude is expected
